Mechanic

The Domaine International de Rouville is looking for a mechanic to work at both the campsite and the Rouville Golf Course. This is a full-time, permanent position (all year round!)

Domaine international de Rouville is a resort including a campsite and a 27-hole golf course located near the Rougemont and Saint-Hilaire mountains, in the heart of the Montérégie panorama. Pioneers since 1972 in the democratization of sport, we pay special attention to the recreational aspect and learning the game.

Job Description:

The mechanic is responsible for the proper functioning of all machinery and electric carts. He must maintain the equipment, tools, and machinery in good condition and ensure their proper use. He diagnoses and repairs mechanical, electrical, transmission, steering, brake, and hydraulic breakdowns. He sharpens knives, adjusts grinders, and performs welding work. He is also responsible for the maintenance of buildings related to his work. He maintains an up-to-date inventory of machinery and vehicles, tools, and equipment available or under repair.

Responsibilities:

• Repair and maintain company vehicles, equipment and machinery and ensure that everything is safe for users.

• Carry out welding, sharpening, painting and adjustment work

• Plan upcoming work and needs with the golf director in order to manage the availability of equipment and machinery by making a usage schedule

• Go to the location of the breakdown to make repairs on site or tow the equipment if necessary

• Collaborate in the evaluation of machine performance and efficiency

• Order safety equipment such as helmets, hearing protectors, goggles, gloves, etc. and keep an inventory

• Maintain inventory of products, parts and equipment and make necessary purchases

• Train and inform users on the safe use of equipment and machinery to prevent accidents and breakdowns

• Carry out snow removal work during the winter season

Qualifications and skills:

• Experience in golf, agricultural, landscaping or small engine equipment mechanics (an asset).

• Valid class 5 driving license

• Professional studies diploma in construction machinery mechanics, light vehicles, agricultural mechanics or any other relevant training.

• Good knowledge of welding and diesel mechanics

• 1 to 2 years of experience

• Meticulous, versatile and resourceful

• Ability to work with specialized equipment and machinery

• Be conscientious, precise and efficient in adjusting and sharpening knives intended for cutting
