Aquatic Coordinator

The Rouville International Estate is looking for an aquatic coordinator to work at the Rouville International Estate.

The Domaine International de Rouville is a resort complex including a campground and a 27-hole golf course located near Mount Rougemont and Mount Saint-Hilaire, in the heart of the Monteregian landscape. Since 1960, this internationally renowned and popular tourist destination has offered water activities, camping stays, magnificent golf courses, and a performance hall.

Job description :

The aquatics coordinator's main responsibilities include the supervision, planning, and smooth operation of aquatic activities, including the beaches and the water park. Reporting to the campground manager, they manage the lifeguard staff, ensure compliance with the safety and hygiene standards established by the Lifesaving Society of Quebec, and contribute to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for campground guests.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Personnel and Operations Management

  • Supervises, guides and motivates the rescue team.
  • Plans work schedules based on customer traffic, weather, and operational needs.
  • Plans open swims, swimming lessons and fun swims at day camp.
  • Ensures the efficient distribution of daily tasks on the beach and at the water park.
  • Participates in the recruitment, training and integration of new team members.
  • Ensures adequate staff presence according to required monitoring ratios.
  • Approves timesheets.

Human Resources Management

  • Collaborates in the lifeguard staffing process (selection, interviews, recommendations).
  • Ensures the reception, integration, theoretical and practical training of new employees.
  • Oversees the skills upgrading of all rescuers.
  • Teaches, if necessary, swimming techniques according to recognized programs (Red Cross).
  • Evaluates the performance of rescuers as well as their analytical, vigilance and intervention skills.
  • Participates in the planning and management of schedules, replacements and timesheets.
  • Assigns daily roles and responsibilities and coordinates the team's work.

Equipment management

  • Assesses the needs for materials and equipment related to water safety.
  • Conducts periodic inspections of the condition of equipment according to applicable standards.
  • Keeps the equipment inventory up to date.
  • Check that first aid kits are complete, available and meet requirements.

Security and compliance

  • Write up monitoring plans based on customer traffic scenarios.
  • Ensures that all aquatic activities comply with the safety rules and protocols established by the Lifesaving Society of Quebec.
  • Establishes and enforces emergency procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Regularly inspects facilities, rescue equipment and swimming areas to ensure they are in good condition and comply with regulations.
  • Completes the mandatory RBQ inspection checklists.
  • Ensures the compilation of water quality data in the register.
  • Ensures monitoring of updates to regulations concerning water monitoring and quality.
  • Writes incident reports and ensures the necessary follow-up.

Planning and coordination

  • Develops the opening and supervision schedules for the beach and water park.
  • Coordinates logistical and operational needs (signage, equipment, display of rules, etc.).
  • Collaborates with management for the organization of special activities or aquatic events.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of operations and customer satisfaction.
