RESPONSIBILITIES:
In addition to his role as a lifeguard, the assistant may be asked to participate in the following tasks as needed and according to the aquatic coordinator's workload distribution.
Operations management and supervision
• Coordinates and monitors the daily work of the rescue team; controls attendance and behavior.
• Ensures the application of current regulations and compliance with the standards of the Lifesaving Society.
• Provides monitoring support as required by operational needs, breaks and replacements.
• Monitors the cleanliness of the facilities and checks the water quality.
• Compiles operational data (visitor numbers, water quality, filter maintenance, product usage).
• Writes incident reports or any other required reports.
• Performs any other related function deemed relevant.
• In the absence of the aquatic coordinator, he provides a watch.
• Supervises, guides and motivates the rescue team.
• Plans work schedules based on customer traffic, weather, and operational needs.
• Ensures the efficient distribution of daily tasks on the beach and at the water park.
• Participates in the training and integration of new team members.
• Ensures adequate staff presence according to required monitoring ratios.
Security and compliance
• Ensures that all aquatic activities comply with the safety rules and protocols established by the Lifesaving Society of Quebec.
• Ensures compliance with emergency procedures and safety instructions.
• Regularly inspects facilities, rescue equipment and swimming areas to ensure they are in good condition and comply with regulations.
• Completes the mandatory RBQ inspection checklists.
• Ensures the compilation of water quality data in the register.
• Monitors updates to regulations concerning water monitoring and quality.
• Writes incident reports and ensures necessary follow-up.
Security and customer service
• Provides professional and courteous customer service.
• Ensures the quality of services offered and the maintenance of a safe environment at all times.
• Ensures the supervision and safety of swimmers and intervenes in case of emergency according to protocols.
• Applies and enforces applicable aquatic standards and regulations.
• Follows the rescue intervention protocol established by management.
• Welcoming groups and day camps.
Performs all other related tasks.
